Broker's Comments

Abeking & Rasmussen opened the Lemwerder shipyard in Germany in 1907 since when they have produced over 6,400 luxury yachts and mega yachts and are regarded as one the finest yacht construction companies in the world. This 1962 built ketch combines classic elements including teak interior along with modern amenities having been totally refitted in 2004. The yacht was held in facility at the yard in Germany until 1969 when she was shipped to Martha’s Vineyard where she was the proud flagship for the Edgartown Yacht Club. Her second owner than completed a Trans – Atlantic before coming back to the Caribbean for the Antigua Classic in 1995. Her current owners raced her in the Marblehead to Halifax and the Newport classic races in 2003 before embarking on an exhaustive and comprehensive refit of all major systems. Further upgrades were completed in 2008 including a new generator and air-conditioning and the yacht has been a labour of love for the owner as well as the full time captain who maintains the yacht in pristine condition. This breathtaking ketch is irreplaceable having been hand crafted to standards from a bygone era; she is in fantastic shape and will be certain to cause a stir in the Antigua Classic and Sweetheart’s of the Caribbean Regattas this year. There is 2009 survey report available, the yacht is MCA coded and available for sale or charter
