General history of Ventus-
Moored in Gillingham marina Kent since 2017.
Up until 2022 she had been day sailed on the Medway and Thames Estuary with the occasional long weekend passage up the East coast or the Thames to St. Katherines Dock.
In May 2022 we began our voyage anticlockwise around Great Britain heading up the East coast to Inverness – passing through the Caledonian Canal to Fort William – down the Western Isles of Scotland and on to Northern Ireland. A slow meander down to Southern Ireland before finally crossing to Milford Haven where she was hauled out of the water for the winter months.
The only reason for selling Ventus is that a larger yacht with more entertaining space would allow our family to join at times.

Broker's Comments

The ETAP 26i is a Belgian design, built by ETAP Yachting. A performance pocket cruiser, built predominantly of glass-fibre, with wood trim.

The Bergstrom rig has no backstay, which is compensated by its swept-back spreaders. This also explains its large main sail with generous roach and smaller self-tacking genoa.

I was impressed by both the condition of the boat and the design. The styling gives a modern feel, aided by fore facing windows, which allow assessment of sail shape and forward visibility while down below.

Overall condition is excellent, flooring, headlining's, cabinetry and upholstery show 'like new'. sails appear in good condition, the engine, although original, is a well maintained and fully functional example. The keel is freshly antifouled and looks smart in grey. The topside gelcoat gleams and the decks with tan coloured none skid also present well.

A unique design feature is the double skinned deck and hull, this enables the boat to remain afloat and make way while flooded- This was clearly demonstrated when an ETAP representative sailed the boat, flooded, across the English channel and back without issue.

The double hull and highly thermal insulation also combine to prevent condensation built up, keeping the interior fresh and dry.

A clean example of this stylish, innovative and quality built boat.
