She was slurry-blasted in 2009 to remove the old anti-fouling, and she is now anti fouled at least once a year using Micron International.

A recent survey has revealed some osmosis blisters which may need treatment. There are also some issues which require some GRP work to strengthen some old repairs to the chain plates and and the area around the mast compression post.

Broker's Comments

I’m not sure comments are needed here – if you are viewing this boat then you probably know all about Sigma 33’s. I’ve had the dubious privilege over the years of seeing them pass me as if I were going astern, then watching their sterns receding into the distance around the windward mark while the rest of the fleet is just crossing the start line.

She was re-rigged in 2009, so no worries there, and having been aboard to take all the photos I had a good chance to have a look at her from close up. She is obviously owned by a keen club racer – just look at the sails – but also a conscientious and experienced seaman.

The owner writes:

“A competitive racing boat..Most recently she was the winner of the Sigma 33 Class in the 2013 Round The Island Race...When not competing she was used for regular family cruising and comes with a complete set of cruising sails."

She does need a bit of work doing - see my comments under "construction" - hence the bargain price! She is at the stage where a good refit would set her up for a new lease of life, and reward the new owner in spades!

A great boat, great pedigree, famous design, a real class act this one!
