Today at the Miami Boat Show we met up with Adam Rhodes (who along with his business partner) is launching Boatshed in the British Virgin Islands (BVIs).

Adam took us out on a 38ft Seawind catamaran to see some more of the Miami shoreline. The owner, Patrick Garceau, lives aboard with his wife and 13 month old son and the boat is perfectly organised as a party/nursery/sailing mecca! In the Boatshed.com '70 photos of every boat mantra', I can't remember seeing space for 'play pen' before - a new category perhaps alongside galley, heads and saloon?

We also met up with the editor of Performance Boats to learn about muscle machines in preparation for our time out on the massive Hustler powerboats. Asking why these boats appealed to families (they look like mean lean racing machines but are often photographed with families aboard), he said "They don't. The husband buys one to go fast and the wives just hang on for the ride". Photograph below!
